The plot of “Monteverde” begins with a shocking twist: Carolina (played by África Zavala) is an ordinary woman whose life falls apart when she is wrongfully accused of fraud. With no time to prove her innocence, she is forced to flee with her son Andrés and her loyal nanny, Juanita. Her only possible refuge is the home of her twin sister, Celeste.
Unlike Carolina, Celeste has devoted her life to her faith, leading a quiet and reserved existence. Faced with despair, Carolina makes a drastic decision: to assume her sister’s identity and hide in Monteverde, a religious community where she hopes to go unnoticed and protect her son. However, maintaining the lie becomes increasingly complicated, especially when Oscar León (Gabriel Soto) appears, a charismatic man who also carries the wounds of his own past. What begins as a coincidence soon turns into a deep emotional bond that Carolina did not anticipate and that threatens to destroy the disguise she has worked so hard to build. “A lie can be sustained for a while, but what happens when the heart decides to speak louder?”
